Overview
Named in memory of Juan’s Lake, the former bright, flourishing, and life-sustaining waters of this region, Lake Valley Navajo School honors its namesake by nourishing the minds, bodies, and spirits of its students. Lake Valley Navajo School serves Kindergarten through 8th grade students in multi-grade classrooms: K-2nd, 3rd-5th, and 6th-8th. Combining three grade levels per classroom allows us to provide academic support for intervention and enrichment. Transitional support is available to all incoming Kindergarteners, as well as to all 8th graders who are moving on to high school.
For the 2024-25 school year, Lake Valley Navajo School is implementing Director Tony Dearman's eLMS initiative. We are piloting his digital learning portal with a blended learning approach. Our students can maximize this opportunity by accessing the digital learning portal with a 1:1 student-laptop usage ratio. This approach gives our students the advantage of integrated applications, such as Houghton Mifflin Harcourt for our math and reading, Rosetta Stone Navajo for our native language support, and Renaissance Learning for our tailored instruction. Every one of our students benefits from the robust learning strategy and the comprehensive application of these innovative tools and resources. Lake Valley Navajo School’s team of dedicated educators are committed to the growth and development of your children - tomorrow’s leaders.

Message from our Principal
Mrs. Teresa Ramone-Wilson
Welcome to Lake Valley Navajo School – Home of the Mighty Lakers! As your Principal, it is my pleasure to join you, support you, and guide you through our exciting learning environment where every student reaches their greatest potential. The doors, phone lines, and inboxes of our staff and faculty are open for communication collaboration, and friendship. All students, parents/guardians, families, and members of our Navajo community will play important roles on this journey. I encourage us all to stay involved, be engaged, and participate in activities to support a year of improving grades and record attendance. To all our returning students, I’m so happy you decided to continue your educational journey with us. And to all our new students, this year’s adventure in academic achievement will be one we will never forget.
